Passion for dancing and its formation begin at an early age for Amaia Zugadi. Beginning with folk dances from their land, the Basque Country, where it is part of the ballet of Basque dances in their town, forming and exhibiting until adulthood. In his teenage years he enters the Monet dance school, where he learns and exhibits in dances such as jazz, Hawaiian and modern. A few years later he begins his journey through the Caribbean rhythms (salsa, bachata, chachacha), years in which he also receives training in classical dances, contemporary dance and yoga. Until in 2008 he discovers tango, or tango finds it.
So what begins as a passion becomes a professional path, until his path in tango (and in life) turns upside down when in 2013 he moves to Buenos Aires, where he will live 4 years of his life before settling down in Barcelona. Total immersion in the cradle of tango makes its dance, its classes and vision of tango acquire much more depth and richness. Perceiving and living the tango from there as a cultural expression, alive and in constant transformation.
His search in tango focuses on quality in movement, authenticity in expression and connection with the couple, where hug and music are protagonists. Embrace, grounding, movement density and musicality are characteristic of his dance and also of his classes. He honors and thanks his many teachers in tango, making a special reference to Cecilia Garcia, Horacio Godoy, Silvina Valz, Pancho Martínez Pey and Dana Frigoli.

In Europe with German Salvatierra and Seba Farias. In her role as a teacher, her love for teaching and extensive experience in different teaching fields should be highlighted. It is essential to pay full attention to the basic and specific needs of each student, and thus focus their classes. With experience as a teacher in Buenos Aires in milongas such as El Escolazo (Club Fulgor) and La Cachivachería Milonga, together with Jorge Frías, Rodrigo Fonti, Ezequiel Merlo, Leo Mercado. He took classes with Metin Yazir & Vanessa Gauch, Serkan Gokcesu (current partner of Cecilia Garcia) and Ozhan Araz. At the same time he began in classical dance that became a constant basis in his training throughout his career.
Parallel to his academic studies in Lyon, he traveled in Europe in marathons and festivals discovering the power of tango as a language that connects people without distinguishing age or country. This experience of years on the dance floor allowed him to acquire a sensitivity to music and develop a body listening. He also continued to progress with classes and workhops from different teachers such as Geraldine Rojas, Sebastian Achaval, Cecilia Berra and Horacio Godoy.
During his recent trip to Buenos Aires he approached the roots of tango thanks to teachers such as Graciela Gonzalez Silvina Valz, Eladia Córdoba & Andrés Molino; He delved into the tango lounge style with Moira Castellano, Dante Sanchez; He perfected his technical work with Ruben Velíz. He also participated in the Tango Escenario classes of Alejandra Gutty & Claudio Gonzalez.
Since 2012 he teaches tango classes helping students find their alignment and comfort in their own body, find their roots on the floor and connect the hug to the earth, develop listening to music. The first objective is to convey the pleasure of connecting with another body with the common base that music offers. This pleasure will lead us to seek technical excellence, fluidity and elegance of movement.
